This guide walks you through enrolling in the Apple Developer Program as an organisation, ensuring compliance with Apple’s requirements.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

As an event planner or organiser, you may want to publish your event app on the Apple App Store using your own Apple Developer Account. This will give you greater control over your app's presence on the platform and allow you to manage your app's distribution more effectively. To do this, you'll need to set up an Apple Developer Account. Let's dive into how to set up an Apple Developer Account.

Step 1: Ensure You Meet the Requirements

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • An Apple ID with two-factor authentication enabled

  • A D-U-N-S Number (a unique business identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet)

  • Legal Entity Status (your business must be a registered legal entity, not a sole proprietorship)

  • Business Website (a publicly available website that represents your company)

  • Authority to Sign Legal Agreements (you must have the authority to bind your organisation to legal agreements with Apple)

Step 2: Obtain a D-U-N-S Number (If You Don’t Have One)

The **D-U-N-S Number** is required for business verification. If your company does not have one, follow these steps:

  1. Check if your business has a D-U-N-S Number:

  2. Request a D-U-N-S Number (if necessary):

    • If no existing number is found, apply for one via Dun & Bradstreet.

    • Processing typically takes a few days to two weeks, but can be expedited if needed.

Step 3: Create or Sign in to Your Apple ID

  1. Go to Apple ID and create an account if you don’t already have one.

  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication on your Apple ID for security purposes.

  3. Use your business email address (e.g., [email protected]) rather than a personal email.

Step 4: Start Enrollment in the Apple Developer Program

  1. Go to Apple Developer Enrolment:

  2. Select ‘Company / Organization’ Enrolment:

    • Apple will prompt you to choose an enrollment type.

    • Select Company / Organization.

  3. Enter Your Organization Information:

    • Legal Entity Name: (Must match your D-U-N-S record exactly)

    • D-U-N-S Number

    • Website: A publicly accessible company website

    • Phone Number: (Apple may contact you for verification)

  4. Confirm Your Authority to Enrol:

    • Apple requires the person enrolling to be the Account Holder, meaning you must have authority to sign legal agreements on behalf of your company.

  5. Submit Your Application

    • After filling in the necessary details, submit your enrolment request.

Step 5: Verification Process

Apple will review your application, which includes:

  • Business Verification: Apple may contact you or your company to confirm your information.

  • D-U-N-S Number Match: Your business details must match exactly with Dun & Bradstreet records.

  • Authority Confirmation: Apple may request additional documentation proving you have legal authority to enrol.

This process typically takes a few days to two weeks, depending on your company’s verification.

Step 6: Pay the Annual Membership Fee

Once Apple approves your enrollment, you’ll need to:

  1. Pay the $99 annual fee (via credit card or PayPal).

  2. Wait for Confirmation – Once payment is processed, you’ll receive an email confirming activation.
