HelloCrowd provides its users with 3 sign in options that include signing in via Google username and password, Google Single Sign-On (SSO), and signing in via SAML SSO i.e. you can use your identity provider by setting up System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM).

How to Select the Authentication Method?

Step 1: Click your Username

Upon successful login, click your username displayed on the top-right corner of the screen. This reveals a number of options.

Step 2: Select Security

From the options revealed, click Security. Doing so takes you to the Security screen.

Step 3: Choose the Required Authentication Method

In case you want HelloCrowd to require a password or Google Sign On for sign in, select Require password or Google sign on radio button.

If you want HelloCrowd to require Google Sign On for all users, select Require Google sign on for everyone radio button.

To enable SAML SSO, select the Require SAML SSO radio button.

Step 4: Add Security Contact

Use the Security Contact field to enter an email address that can be contacted by HelloCrowd in case of any security incident. It is recommended to provide a group alias or a shared inbox accessible to multiple people.

How to Set Up SAML SSO?

Step 1: Select Require SAML SSO

Once on the Security screen, select the Require SAML SSO radio button. This opens the Setup SAML SSO window.

Step 2: Copy the Issuer ID

The Issuer ID is displayed in the Entity/Issuer field. You can copy the ID by clicking the copy to clipboard icon. This is the name of the HelloCrowd application within your IdP.

Step 3: Copy the Assertion Consumer Service URL

The Assertion Consumer Service URL displayed in the Assertion Consumer Service URL field directs your IdP where to send its SAML response upon authenticating a user. You can copy the URL by clicking the copy to clipboard icon.

Step 4: Upload SSO Provider Metadata XML

In case you have an XML file from your IdP, upload it from your system storage by clicking the Upload Metadata XML File button.

Step 5: Enter Service Provider Entity ID

If you do not have an XML file from your IdP, enter the entity ID from your service provider in the Service Provider Entity ID field.

Step 6: Enter SSO Sign In URL

Provide the sign in URL from your IdP in the SSO Sign In URL field.

Step 7: Enter Certificate

Provide the authentication certificate from your IdP in the Certificate textbox.

Step: Click 'Finish'

Once the required details are entered, click the Finish button.
